Morning Energy Bars

These energy bars are full of dried fruit and grains,  giving you energy and an excellent source of fibre to start off your day.

2 cups rolled oats
1/2 cup pecans
1 cup dried fruit (cherries, blueberries, raisins)
1/2 cup multigrain hot cereal
1/2 cup plain non dairy milk
1 cup cashew nut butter
1/2 cup maple syrup
1/4 tsp salt

Heat oven to 180C and warm up the oats and pecans for 6 minutes on a dry baking sheet
Warm up the milk and add the multigrain cereal
Mix all ingredients together with the oats, pecans and milk
Transfer to a lined 8 x 8 inch baking tin and leave for two hours before slicing up into bars on a cutting board

These will keep at room temperature for 3 days and fridge for 1 week.  You can freeze in an airtight container; thaw before eating
